About the Coalition

The Reaching Higher Coalition is a growing coalition of workers, passenger rights organizations and community groups committed to raising standards for airport workers and passengers at California’s top airports.

Statement of Principles

As airport service workers, clergy, community leaders, and as airline passengers, we call upon the Airline industry to:

· Strengthen our Communities: By committing to service jobs that include decent wages and healthcare, Airlines can play a positive role in lifting low-income neighborhoods out of poverty.
· Ensure Quality Service and Security for all passengers: All air travelers, including passengers with disabilities and seniors, deserve safe and effective service from well-trained, professional staff who have adequate equipment.
· Take Leadership: Airlines should work with their contractors and airport service workers through their union, SEIU Airport Workers United, to establish common standards that meet these goals.
